Art, pop music and video games

The Swedish Presidency presents an opportunity to show that Europe is not just about politics and economics, but about culture as well.

This week, widely different cultural events such as Black/North SEAS, bringing artists from eleven countries together in performances and installations, the Swedish circus group Cirkus Cirkör and the outdoor exhibition National Parks of Sweden can be seen around Sweden and Europe.

Europe shares a common cultural heritage. The ambition of the Swedish Presidency is to show that culture can be modern, cross-border and open. I hope that many Swedes as well as other Europeans will make interesting cultural experiences, no matter if we are speaking about art, film, pop music or video games.

You will find a calender of the full cultural programme for the Swedish Presidency here.
